Why would you call the cafe the bridge cafe ... Where is the bridge ?

Although I appreciate the thinking behind 'The Bridge Cafe' I wonder about confusion re possible affiliation with The Bridge Academy....

I'm not sure about Cafe Eden.. How many residents know about the background of Frampton Park? The name perhaps would more likely suggest links to 'PAradise', 'Religion' etc

Pardon me for being the fly in the ointment but wouldn't a reference to our whole point in being in existence be appropriate like "the cross café". I think the bridge café out of all the names is preferable but may be a little bland

I think I marginally prefer King's Café, provided that the apostrophe is present! It links in well with King's Community Project and I think it meets Richard's point about the reason for the Church's existence. My second choice would be Café Mosaic but it would have me looking round for a mosaic and, so far as I know, there isn't one! Café Eden smacks of New Age and, as Hazel suggests, The Bridge Café is too much like the Academy school name and also may be a bit too obviously about 'us and them'

Mark has mentioned that he would be looking for a Mosaic. Ken has actually already made us a mosaic to put somewhere in the new building.javascript:void(0)

The question was asked about why the name Bridge Cafe. Below is an explanation for each of the names which comes from notes of a meeting held on Monday when we talked about the names.

The Bridge Cafe –we talked about the café being a bridge where people from the church crossed over to being part of the local community and people from the local community crossed over to being part of the church.

Café Eden – This history of Frampton Park was that it was a wonderful garden and obviously there is a biblical connection to the garden of Eden. Look at Wikipea to find out more about Loddiges and his East London gardens.

Café Mosaic – Several times in the meeting we talked about how the café could be a place where people from all different cultures & backgrounds come together. A beautiful Mosaic is made up of lots of broken pieces.

Kings Café –This name has a bit of history with the church as we have been running the Kings Community Project for many years and used to have the Kings Centre at the back of the building. This name obvioulsy has a reference to The King.
